We are excited to announce that Final Cut Pro is now supported again through our new Logi Plugin! Here’s everything you need to know about system requirements, installation, optimization, and troubleshooting common issues.
System Requirements and Installation
To integrate your Loupedeck device with Final Cut Pro, the Logi Plugin uses keyboard shortcuts.
Please note the following requirements and steps:
System Requirements
-
Keyboard Layout: US English keyboard layout is mandatory for the plugin to function properly.
-
Hardware Optimization: The plugin is optimized for Apple M-series chips. Systems with older Intel processors may experience reduced performance, particularly with dial adjustments.
Installation Steps
-
Close Final Cut Pro: Ensure that FCP is not running during the installation process.
-
Install the Plugin: Download and install the Logi Plugin from the Loupedeck Marketplace
-
Automatic Configuration: The plugin will automatically set up the correct keyboard shortcut settings within FCP after installation.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If you experience problems with the plugin or its actions, follow these troubleshooting tips:
1. Check Keyboard Layout
The plugin requires the system’s keyboard layout to be set to US English. Ensure this is configured correctly in your macOS settings:
-
Navigate to System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources.
-
Add and select "US English" if it’s not already active.
2. Verify Command Set in Final Cut Pro
Ensure the correct Logitech command set is active within FCP:
-
Open Final Cut Pro.
-
Navigate to Final Cut Pro > Command Sets.
-
Select Logi Plugin Command Set from the options.
3. Performance on Older Systems
If you’re using a Mac with an Intel processor, you may encounter reduced performance, especially when using dials. While the plugin is optimized for M-series chips, you can:
-
Minimize other resource-intensive applications running in the background.
-
Restart your Mac to free up resources before using FCP with the plugin.
