      Release Notes 6.0

      IMPROVEMENTS

      General

        • New installers for Windows & macOS
        • Rebranded the core software to Logi Plugin Service.
        • Loupedeck core software has been updated to .NET 8 technology. 
          • Reduced application startup time.
          • Reduced CPU usage in idle mode.
        • Enabled installation of plugins without restarting the app.
        • Decoupled plugins from the core app, making them installable via the Marketplace.
        • Added Italian and Spanish Language support.
          • Updated localizations in the UI, system and custom actions.
        • Added support for the .NET 8 Plugin SDK, allowing plugin developers to leverage the latest C# language features.
        • Updated the error messages on actions for the following states: Plugin error, Disabled action, Plugin missing.
        • Real-time value synchronization has been implemented for dial actions, allowing users to observe the adjustments as they are made. Initially available for a select number of adjustments.

      UI

      • Loupedeck UI now supports .NET 8 plugin installation without requiring a service restart.
      • Renamed the Loupedeck UI executable to Loupedeck.exe on Windows and com.loupedeck.loupedeckApp on macOS.
      • “Copy version” button in the “About Loupedeck” now copies both the UI and LPS version to the clipboard.

      Icons & Icon editor

      • Default icon and icon background colors for plugins and system actions
      • Implemented a new icon system and default font.
      • Added hover state to icon preview for enhanced user experience.
      • Removed the “Loupedeck Media Icons” icon pack from the installer and added them to the Loupedeck Marketplace.
      • Added a new default icon pack to the installer.

      Logi Plugin Service


      • Updated service to .NET8
      • Limited keyboard shortcut sending rate to prevent target applications from getting stuck.
      • User data is now stored in a new location for Logi Plugin Service
      • Modified the installation location for Logi Plugin Service.
      • Removed the word “Loupedeck” from messages coming from Logi Plugin Service and renamed it with Logi Plugin Service where applicable.
      • Uninstalling Loupedeck does not remove Logi Plugin Service if the user has Options+ installed on their computer.
      • Loupedeck start pop-up has been disabled.
      • Separated the Logi Plugin Service and Loupedeck Application version numbering 
      • Options+ icon is used for Logi Plugin Service in the program files.

      MacOs

      • On macOS the system now requests to stop running other applications when installing the Loupedeck Software.
      • Refined the uninstalling flow on macOS.
      • The Loupedeck log zip file logic on macOS has been changed, so that the zip-file is created only after the user stops logging in the troubleshooter.
      • “Control System Events” pop-up has been prevented from appearing during the macOS installation.

      Improvements - Plugins


      General

      • Improved application plugin installation flow and speed.
      • Enhanced plugin loading.
      • If the plugin is not connected to the client app, a warning message/icon is displayed on the buttons.

      Ableton Live 


      • Updated to .NET8 and updated the plugin version to 6.1.0
      • Added support for Ableton Live 12.
      • Changed the default plugin icon color and icon background color.
      • Renamed the control surface to Logi Plugin.
      • Changed the plugin author to Logitech.

      Capture One


      • Updated new default icon style (incl. background color).
      • Changed the plugin author to Logitech.

      Adobe Lightroom Classic


      • Plugin updated to .NET 8.0.
      • Removed non-existing actions from actions list.
      • Updated new default icon style (incl. background color).
      • Fixed navigation in dynamic folders.
      • Updated GetWheelToolNames functions to use the device specific overload. 
      • Added value synchronization to compatible dial adjustments.
      • Updated deprecated action names to match present naming convention.
      • Updated action grouping to match Lightroom Classic.
        • Reset actions moved under corresponding Reset-groups.

      BUG FIXES

      General


      • macOS System language is no longer switched to English after performing shortcut-based actions and installing/uninstalling admin rights plugins.
      • Fixed a bug where creating a new Multi-Action consisting another Multi-Action crashed the app.
      • Made the system volume adjustment less sensitive.
      • Fixed an issue that happened While logging on macOs, a log zip file is not created if the user logs out from macOS.
      • Fixed a bug that caused a plugin, that requires admin rights, installation to disappear in case the uninstallation was canceled.
      • Fixed an issue where the dynamic mode was occasionally not working correctly while switching between game menu and active game window
      • Fixed a bug where “Run” custom action did not open folders like %LocalAppData% or %UserProfile%

      KNOWN ISSUES

      General


      • Open Application on macOs does not recognize all system applications
      • The overlay does not show for adjustments in Windows
      • Sometimes Japanese Input Switches to Hiragana when Typing English Text in Multi-Action “Text”
      • Long keypress in Loupedeck+ keyboard mode does not work consistently 
      • User is not able to copy a stored “Keyboard Shortcut” custom action
      • macOS: In cases where two versions of a supported application are installed, the non-active version may start when Loupedeck uses press actions.
      • Loupedeck+ may not wake up after sleep mode in some circumstances.
      • Loupedeck does not recognize Live2D and LibreOffice apps with custom profiles.
      • Loupedeck Live devices occasionally remain active while screens are locked in Windows OS.
      • Profile changes in the task bar menu do not always reflect the active application in the UI.
      • Custom Groups can only be deleted when they are empty of actions.

      Plugins in the installer

      Ableton Live

      • Plugin support for Ableton Live 10 must be manually installed from the Loupedeck Support pages.
      • The dynamic page "Clip Launch Mode" scales incorrectly on Live S - console.
      • Dynamic modes are disabled for devices that cannot support them.

      Capture One

      • Some icons, such as "Set Rating," are not shown.
      • Loupedeck+ / Loupedeck Original: Control Dial / Crop does not work.
      • The Brush tool does not open when the action is used (affects Windows users).
      • The Crop Tool does not initiate when the action is used (affects Windows users).

      Lightroom Classic

      • Pressing the Home button in masking-submode returns to the library instead of the Develop mode.
      • Some brush parameters are missing from the action list.
      • "Activate Crop Tool by Rotation" has inconsistent behavior.
      • Filtering actions are affected on CT/Live if the legacy "--/Col" toggle-action is used on Loupedeck+.
      • Some Masking actions are visible in the action panel when develop workspaces are active. These actions only work within the Masking submode.
      • The Tools folder is incorrectly named as "Tools Menu".

      OBS Studio

      • Windows: If OBS Studio is restarted a few seconds after having closed it, the Loupedeck will not connect as it has not finished disconnecting from the previous instance (5.0.3).
      • Changing scene collections has a chance to break functionality.

      Photoshop

      • Dynamic pages cannot be added using the new UI.
      • Loupedeck+ and Loupedeck Original: None of the main dials are working.
