Updating to version 6.0 is essential for Loupedeck users who use Logitech Options+, as it ensures compatibility between both applications.
If you use both Logitech Options+ and Loupedeck applications, you may come across a software incompatibility. As the two applications have a shared plugin system called Logi Plugin Service, they need to use the same service version to work on the same computer. That is why updating from 5.9.1 to 6.0 will be mandatory if your Options+ software updates to version 1.83.
It's important to note that this update brings several advantages. By upgrading, you will gain access to the latest features, enhanced performance, and improved stability. Additionally, this change paves the way for many exciting improvements in the near future.
We launched the enhanced Logi Plugin Service with the 6.0 Loupedeck software update to ensure seamless compatibility between the two applications. Unfortunately, this means that older versions of the Loupedeck software are no longer supported if you are using Logitech Options+ on the same computer.
One way to work around this limitation, is to turn off the automatic Options+ updates from the Options+ settings. The last that works with 5.9.1 Loupedeck is Options+ version 1.82.
If however you have purchased the Logitech MX Creative Controllers, they will always require using the latest the Options+ version and the Loupedeck software must be updated to 6.0 or up to keep on using the Loupedeck devices.
